Two ways to watch your business
Sentinel is the monitoring system. Point it at a connected DataHub dataset, then create an alert rule or a scheduled analyst workflow. Live KPI and sentiment views are created in the AI Operations Center, not here.
- Alert rule — set a threshold, anomaly watch, or goal and get notified in-app, by email, or in Slack when it is breached
- Scheduled workflow — describe a recurring analysis (cadence + what to analyze + who should receive it) and it appears in the workspace rail
- Live KPI and sentiment views — create those in the AI Operations Center for on-screen performance

Watch: describe an alert rule or a recurring analysis, and let Sentinel schedule it.
Monitors that diagnose the root cause
A monitor is more than a threshold. Describe the rule — "alert me if weekly revenue drops more than 20%" or "notify me when profit margin falls below 30%" — and Sentinel schedules the checks, runs the numbers, and when something fires it diagnoses the likely driver so you know why, not just that it happened. It supports threshold rules, statistical anomaly watches, and goal tracking toward a target date.
- Threshold — fire when a metric crosses a value you set (above or below)
- Anomaly — watch a metric on a cadence and get alerted when a value falls outside the expected range
- Goal — track progress toward a target, like revenue toward $500k by December 31
Alerts that reach you where you work
Every monitor alerts in the app by default. Add an email address to route alerts to your inbox, or connect Slack to get direct messages from the Intelligence Navigator app. The monitor table shows each rule with its current value, last run, status (healthy, alert fired, error), and delivery channels at a glance — and clicking any row opens its run history and root-cause analysis.
Full control over every monitor
Run any monitor or workflow on demand, pause and resume it, or delete it when you no longer need it. An activity log keeps a record of alert checks. Live KPI and sentiment views are created in the AI Operations Center. For deeper scorecards, use KPI Analytics or Business Intelligence.
Best practices
- Include a clear threshold or goal value so the rule is unambiguous
- Say "email me at …" in the prompt if you want alerts outside the app
- Mention daily, weekly, or monthly when timing matters — one rule per monitor keeps alerts readable
- For scheduled workflows, include a cadence and a recipient so the report can be delivered
- Review run history after the first firings and tighten the threshold where it cried wolf
